The story behind our "NewAge Redneck" family is one of love, courage, perseverance, integrity and loyalty.  We are just plain folks that want to Be, Do, and Have...no different than you or anyone else. But in one respect...we hope that our story and content here, can help someone, make a difference in their life by serving as a conduit to something better or through inspiration...that we are all light, that we are all connected and here to serve our higher purpose.

Ten years ago to the date...as a family we were planning a wonderful vacation cruise to the Bahama's.  Mailia was 3 years old at the time.  She had been born a beautiful healthy baby, despite my grueling pregnancy with what is termed as "Hyperemisis Gravidarum" or total morning sickness that lasted my entire pregnancy with her.  Can you imagine not eating or drinking for 7-1/2 months?  This was my scenario...feeding by intravenous tubes, a TPN therapy to keep us both alive.  It is estimated that over 30,000 women in the U.S. experience hyperemisis on an annual basis. I only wish I had the resources available to me then...that I have now and learned over the years, in respect to integrative healing.

The cruise opened up a whole new Pandora's box for us...half of the ship came in from Canada and brought with them, an RSV virus that found both Max and Mailia.  By the time we were airborne for home, Mailia was in respiratory distress.  She was hospitalized for two weeks, and later seen by specialists that determined she had developed extremely high pressures in her lungs...due to the fact that she had a VSD or ventricle septal defect in her heart that went "undiagnosed" at birth and had now, caused inoperable Pulmonary Hypertension.  That short of a double lung and heart transplant...nothing they could do for her, for closing the hole with a patch...would make matters worse and she would never recover.

After a short stint with grieving, blamming ourselves and getting madder than hell, we opted for a second opinion, took our baby to Denver Children’s Hospital and were told not to go the transplant route.  That Mailia's condition, which they told us was "Eisenmenger's Syndrome", would not improve...but that they had seen kids live into their teens and early twenties with no intervention...but that we should consider moving her to sea level, buy her time...and wait for technology to "catch up".  So that became our mission and plan.

Max and I both worked at Los Alamos National Laboratory, commuting daily from our small ranch south of Santa Fe, New Mexico, the elevation there being over 7,200 ft.  This "baptismal by fire" led us to open up a road atlas in lieu of a crystal ball, and find a place where we could easily move that would afford Mailia a healthier environment and our family a new start.  We landed finally in south central Washington State, an area called the Tri-Cities, an agricultural hub where three beautiful rivers conjoin...the Snake, Yakima and the beautiful Columbia.  It is also the hub for the Hanford Nuclear reservation and PNNL, the Pacific Northwest National Lab...where Max and I finally wound up with great jobs.

We have spent the last 10 years searching for potential cures for Mailia.  Our search has led us as far as Brazil, finding a world renown heart surgeon, Dr. Randas Batista, who I met several years ago at a cardiology conference in Arizona.  Mailia has been seen by numerous traditional medical doctors and non traditional, shamanistic healers.  With the internet...there is no web site or article left unturned.  It is a constant source for our ongoing search to find the means, the person(s) and connections to make this happen and become a reality.

Last summer, I found a book written by T. Harv Eker..."Secrets of the Millionaire Mind" that changed our lives.  We attended his free seminar MMI, and committed to re-educate ourselves over the next several years and invested a huge amount of our savings into attending future personal development seminars through Peak Potentials.

Then came the Movie and book, "The Secret"...this time, grabbing Mailia's wholehearted attention in learning the Secret 2 the Law of Attraction.  A second seminar we attended as a family was held in Vancouver, B.C. last winter...."Life Directions".  It was at this seminar that we learned our true calling and what we all really desired in life.  The people that we wanted "to Be", the things we wanted "to Do" and the things we all wanted "to Have".  Mailia got up and spoke in front of 700 people and were later told, that she was such an inspiration to so many of them there.  She is a healer herself...we just need to turn her loose!

Mailia's current healing protocol consists of Oxygen therapy, 24/7 and many nutritional supplements, herbs, bio-feedback and energy work.  Mailia is home schooled and loves her on-line teachers and friends.  Our winters in Washington are very cold...which is why it is our vision to relocate to a warmer climate that will help support our dreams and vision of Mailia being healed by 2009.  Plans are to live in beautiful Costa Rica...on a large, tropical ranch complete with the means to facilitate our dreams of operating a healing retreat and Mailia wanting to have a wildlife sanctuary.

Max has expressed a desire to breed and raise Piedmontese cattle and also become a Brewmaster, taking this dream to Costa Rica to be developed.  Mailia wants to help me coach and heal people and animals and make a difference, helping others to succeed.

For us, learning to apply the teachings of the Law of Attraction in our daily lives have helped us find the necessary tools to produce multiple streams of passive income.  It is our hope that you will find some inspiration throughout our blog to set your dreams in motion.
